Friday (4/24) on the ESF Quad

looks to be awesome -- Sunny, mid-70's and all of this:

11 am - 2 pm
BBQ on the Quad
Enjoy good food on what promises to be the nicest weather day of the week.

Noon - 3 pm
Cultural Crafts Fair
Buy international crafts and more.
MSAB & MA sell vendor tables to support the Carmen McCoy Harrison Scholarship Fund.

3 pm - 5 pm
Student Activities Fair, Ice Cream Social & Dunk Tank!
Mmm, good.
Dunk your friends, check out student orgs and activities, and have a bowl of chilly joy!

4:30 pm - 7 pm
EATS! Vegan/organic Cook-off, Pizza and other goodies (or bring your own picnic!)
Bring a great vegan and/or organic dish to share (and be judged if you like).
There will be pizza, veggies and soft drinks as well. Consider bringing your own dinner and making it a picnic!

4:30 pm - 8 pm

EARTH JAM!

Dance to Earth Jam, featuring amazing lead guitarist Mike Vincitore from Dark Hollow,
EFB prof Tom Horton on rhythm guitar, ESF webmaster Paul Otteson on keys, and ESF student Job Lowry on drums. Another band will fill in the gaps.

8 pm - 10 pm
Movie on the Quad
See "Into the Wild" on the big screen outside!
It should still be about 65 degrees F when the movie ends -- nice!

COME and SPREAD THE WORD PLEASE! Celebrate the close of Earth Week.

Teach-In on Climate Change Solutions
Life Sciences Classrooms
Small-group discussions with faculty experts about reducing the magnitude and impacts of climate change.
Topics include technology, science, economics, communications, environmental justice, the arts, and more.

Annual Earth Day Community Wide Clean Up!

SU religion department marks Earth Day with two public lectures
April 22, 12:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Room 500 ~ Hall of Languages
Robert Spiegelman, sociologist, writer and multimedia artist, will present a lecture at noon titled "The Wild, Wild East: New York's Drama of Westward Expansion."
Bron Taylor, holder of The Samuel S. Hill Ethics Chair at the University of Florida, will follow at 4 p.m. with "From Earth Day to Earth Religion: Nature Spirituality and the Quest for Sustainability."
Both events are free and open to the public. For more information, call SU's religion department at 443-3863.
